Our home still had its original resin roof tiles from the 1970s—dated, worn, and starting to show serious signs of failure after all these decades. On top of that, the roof has a very odd, complex shape with multiple angles, pitches, and transitions that make it far from a standard rectangular job. This roofing company handled everything exceptionally well from day one. Communication was top-tier: fast replies, clear explanations of the process (especially important with an unusual roof layout), detailed quotes, and constant updates so we were never left wondering. Professional, friendly, and transparent the whole way through. They earned major points by driving all the way from Bakersfield to Frazier Park—a long haul with a full crew and equipment—and they did it without any hesitation, extra charges, or issues. That kind of commitment is hard to find. The crew was outstanding. They carefully removed the old 1970s resin tiles, properly addressed the underlying structure (which was especially important given the irregular shape), and installed the new roofing system with precision and high-quality materials. They navigated the odd angles and transitions flawlessly, paying close attention to flashing, valleys, and all the tricky spots to ensure a watertight, long-lasting result. The finished roof looks incredible—clean, sharp, and perfectly proportioned despite the challenging layout. They even went above and beyond by identifying and fixing a couple of minor related issues at no extra cost, showing real pride in their work and genuine care for the customer. Cleanup was spotless every single day—you’d hardly know they’d been there except for the beautiful new roof. If you have an outdated roof (especially something vintage like those old resin tiles) AND a complicated, odd-shaped roof that requires real skill and patience, this is the team you want. I leave reviews for every business that I interact with. I will say my experience with Ed and j. United roofing, was the best experience I've had with any type of construction type company in the last ten years. They were phenomenal communicators, which is very important, When doing business. They came out within twenty four hours after me Calling them for the initial inspection. During the inspection, they invited me up on the roof so they could show me all the problem areas. I really appreciated this more than ever. It was so great to get up there and see exactly what was going on, so I knew what they needed to fix. They were always one hundred percent transparent, and that's another thing that makes this the best roofing company in all of central california. I also was able to learn so much about my roof and the maintenance that should be doing on it. I've never owned a house with a tile roof before.So this has all been a learning experience for me. We were having water leaking through our ceiling and into our bedrooms. Come to find out the tile in the valleys were too close together. Trapping all the debris from the dust and trees surrounding the house. They were able to cut a 3 inch. Gap in each valley, allowing the water to successfully drain down the pan and off the roof eliminating our leaking problem. They also replaced the paper And some of the plywood that had gone bad underneath. They sealed all the flashings and other areas that needed it. Once all the repairs were done, they sent an inspector back out to make sure the job was done properly. I also applaud this, because most companies will do the work leave, and you'll never see them again. Not ed and j, they are very professional and very thorough. Once the inspector came back out there was something that had been missed. So he got the guys back out to the house within twenty four hours to finish up. During the process, they let me stay on the roof and watch their work and learn. I also really appreciated this. After the final inspection, they sent all the photos of the before and after work. And a invoice with everything listed they had been fixed. I will always and only use them going forward in the future. I received three other quotes from roofing companies, and they all wanted to charge more than ed and j. They also took a long time to get back with me on the quote.And seem too busy to prioritize my leaky roof. Ed & J shifted their whole schedule around to make my roof a priority. I highly recommend them.
